Introducing our modern spin on the classic S.O.S. recipe that even the U.S. Coast Guard loves!
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 (12 ounce) package maple flavored sausage
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons beef bouillon
  • 6 slices white bread
  • 3 sprigs fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Start by melting butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and maple sausage, cooking until no longer pink. Gradually mix in flour while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Slowly whisk in milk using a fork to prevent lumps. Stir in bouillon. Continue cooking and stirring until it reaches your preferred consistency, knowing that the longer it cooks, the thicker it will become.
