Mixed berry and doughnut cobbler recipe

Upgrade berry cobbler with cinnamon doughnut topping.
Ingredients:
  • 500g frozen mixed berries
  • 400g red apples, peeled, cored, coarsley chopped
  • 180.00 gm brown sugar
  • 33.00 gm hazelnut meal
  • 8 fresh cinnamon doughnuts, halved horizontally
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C (160C fan forced) and generously grease a 23cm (1.25L) shallow baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix together berries, apple, sugar, hazelnut meal, and cinnamon. Spoon the mixture into a prepared dish. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, or until apples are slightly softened. Level the surface and arrange doughnuts on top, cut-side down and slightly overlapping.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until the apple is tender. Let it cool for 5 minutes, then serve with a generous drizzle of thickened cream.
