Homemade sweet and tangy spare ribs with a secret family sauce blend of soy, sugar, vinegar, mustard, and garlic.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup vinegar
  • 2 pounds pork spareribs, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
Instructions:
  • Combine the sugar, flour, salt, pepper, and mustard in a bowl. Mix in the water, soy sauce, and vinegar until well blended.
  • In a pot, cover the ribs with water and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes, then drain.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil until shimmering. Sear ribs on all sides until browned. Stir in sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and cook for an additional 15 minutes, or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness.
