Easy and foolproof homemade peanut brittle recipe - a sweet, salty, and crunchy treat that impresses every time. Perfect for gifting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • Prepare and measure out all ingredients before beginning the recipe.
  • Prepare a generously greased large rimmed baking sheet and set it aside.
  • In a sturdy 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, mix together sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt.
  • Stir until sugar completely dissolves and the mixture boils, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Add peanuts and place a candy thermometer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the temperature reaches 300-310°F (150-155°C).
  • After removing from the heat, briskly fold in butter and baking soda, and promptly transfer the mixture onto the lined baking sheet. Swiftly use 2 forks to stretch it into a 12x14-inch rectangle. Allow it to cool until completely solid, around 30 minutes.
  • Crush peanut brittle with a mallet into bite-sized pieces.
  • Savor every bite!
