Indulgent chocolate pound cake made with pantry staples. Top with icing, sprinkle sugar, or savor plain.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 cups margarine, melted
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch fluted tube pan well. Combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a bowl and whisk until fully mixed.
  • Combine melted margarine, sugar, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Use an electric mixer on Low to blend in the flour mixture until smooth. Pour the batter into the cake pan.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 20 minutes or until the top forms a crust and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 to 15 minutes, then remove the pan and let the cake cool completely.
