Try this: Hot dogs filled with creamy mashed potatoes and topped with melted cheese - a nostalgic family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 6 russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 cup warm milk
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) package hot dogs
  • 4 processed cheese singles (such as Kraft®), cut in half
Instructions:
  • Start by placing the potatoes in a large pot and covering them with salted water. Boil until tender, approximately 20 minutes. Drain and let them steam dry for a minute. Return the potatoes to the pot and mash them with milk, butter, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • As the potatoes boil, simmer hot dogs in a saucepan filled with water. Once boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer until the potatoes are ready to mash.
  • Preheat the broiler in your oven and position the oven rack 6 inches from the heat source.
  • Make a lengthwise cut in the hot dogs, keeping them connected. Fill each hot dog with mashed potatoes and arrange in a baking dish. Top each hot dog with half a slice of cheese.
  • Broil in the preheated oven for about 1 minute until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
