Savory beef and barley soup cooked low and slow with onions and tangy tomato sauce in a rich beef broth.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds cubed beef chuck roast
  • 5 cups water
  • 4 cubes beef bouillon, crumbled
  • 0.5 onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 0.75 cup uncooked pearl barley
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Place the beef, water, bouillon, onion, tomato sauce, barley, salt, and pepper in a slow cooker.
  • Cover and slow cook for 5 hours on Low heat.
