Holiday peanut butter cookies topped with a chocolate kiss.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8 ounce) package milk chocolate candy kisses (such as Hershey's Kisses®), unwrapped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Cream together peanut butter and shortening in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Mix in white sugar and brown sugar until fluffy. Then, add in egg, milk, and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate this mixture into the creamy mixture until just combined. Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until cookies are lightly browned. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie right away. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
