Decadent orange pound cake with chocolate or cream cheese icing.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups butter
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 6 eggs
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you prepare a 10-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • In a spacious bowl, blend the butter and confectioners' sugar until fluffy. Gradually add in the eggs, beating well after each. Mix in the orange juice, vanilla, and salt. Incorporate the flour and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Place in the oven that has been preheated and bake for 70 to 80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake's center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
