Upgrade your Russian tea with real tea bags, pineapple and citrus juices, cinnamon, and cloves for a flavorful twist.
Ingredients:
  • 9 cups water, separated
  • 4 family-size black tea bags (such as Lipton®)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 0.5 cup lemon juice
  • 6 cloves whole cloves, or more to taste
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
Instructions:
  • In a large stockpot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Take off the heat, add tea bags, and let steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags, then return pot to medium heat.
  • In a separate pot, boil 1 cup water. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour this sweet mixture into the stockpot with the tea, along with pineapple juice, orange juice concentrate, and lemon juice. Stir well.
  • Place the cloves in a tea ball and gently add it to the stockpot along with the tea-juice mixture. Simmer for 10 minutes without boiling. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for an additional 15 to 20 minutes to blend the flavors.
