Savory beef and bacon simmered with white wine and a touch of sweetness create a rich and robust sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 onion, minced
  • 0.5 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 (4 ounce) jars mushrooms, drained
  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 0.5 cup white wine
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Saute onion and bell pepper in oil until translucent in a skillet over medium heat. Add beef and cook until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • In a large, deep skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until crispy and browned. Set aside the bacon, crumble it, and mix it with the beef mixture.
  • Add in a flavorful combination of mushrooms, tomato sauce, tomato paste, aromatic garlic powder, and fragrant oregano. Introduce a splash of wine while gently stirring. Incorporate a touch of sugar followed by a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Simmer until heated through.
