"Delicious shrimp and pork wontons with green onions, perfect fried as an appetizer or in flavorful chicken broth with baby bok choy."
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.75 pound cooked shrimp, shelled, deveined and coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons minced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons chopped water chestnuts
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pinch white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 (16 ounce) package wonton skins
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • 1 egg white
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet, sauté the ground pork until fully cooked.
  • Combine shrimp, ground pork, green onions, ginger, and water chestnuts in a large mixing bowl. Add cornstarch, garlic salt, sugar, dry sherry, chili oil, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  • Place a generous teaspoon of the mixture in the center of each won ton wrapper. Fold the wrapper in a triangular shape, then seal and pinch the edges using egg whites to secure the filling inside.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Gently add wontons without overcrowding. Boil until they float to the surface, then add a cup of cold water. Bring the water back to a boil before removing the wontons.
