Generational cranberry ice cream recipe, perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients:
  • 3.5 cups water
  • 4 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, bring water to a boil over high heat, then add cranberries and sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes until berries burst. Strain mixture into a freezer-safe bowl. Extract cranberry juices by mashing or pressing out, discard skins unless desired for another use.
  • Combine the vibrant orange juice and tangy lemon juice with the cranberry juice. Pop it in the freezer until it turns slushy, approximately 1 hour.
  • Gently fold in whipped topping until fully incorporated. Place in the freezer and stir occasionally over the next 24 hours.
