Succulent round steak cooked with colorful peppers in a tangy tomato sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 green bell peppers, cut into strips
  • 2 red bell peppers, cut into strips
  • 1.5 pounds round steak, cut into strips
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 3.5 teaspoons white sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sizzle the peppers in vegetable oil until tender, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
  • Add the steak strips to the skillet with grated onion. Cook and stir for 10 minutes until the steak is evenly browned. Add back the cooked peppers, then mix in tomatoes, water, and sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook the steak over gentle heat for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring from time to time, until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened to perfection.
