Generational guacamole: spicy chile, juicy tomatoes, fresh cilantro, and zesty lime.
Ingredients:
  • 2 fresh chile de arbol peppers, or to taste
  • 3 medium avocados - peeled, pitted, and mashed (one pit reserved)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped roma tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1.5 cups chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 pinches garlic powder, or to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 1 lime, juiced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a cozy 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), then artfully place the chile peppers on a baking sheet.
  • Place chile peppers in the preheated oven and toast until browned, approximately 7 minutes. Remove stems.
  • Combine ripe avocados, diced onion, and fresh roma tomatoes in a bowl.
  • Combine canned tomatoes, fresh cilantro, toasted chile peppers, garlic powder, and salt in a blender and blend until velvety smooth. Gently fold in half of the tomato mixture into the creamy avocado mixture. Save the rest of the tomato blend for future use or as a delectable dipping sauce.
  • Add freshly squeezed lime juice to the avocado mixture, gently fold until well incorporated. Transfer the guacamole to a smaller serving bowl, placing the avocado pit in the center to keep it from turning brown.
