Ingredients:
  • 7 large Cortland apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, or more to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a perfect 350°F (175°C).
  • Arrange the apples evenly in a deep dish pie plate or 8-inch square glass casserole dish. Sprinkle with white sugar and top generously with cinnamon.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour and brown sugar for the topping. Add the butter and use a pastry blender to cut it in. Spread the topping evenly over the apple mixture and gently pat it down.
  • Bake in the hot oven until the apple mixture is bubbling and the topping is golden brown, approximately 55 minutes.
