Creamy turnip mashed potatoes - a tasty twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 large turnip, peeled and cubed
  • 3 white potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large pot, submerge turnip and potatoes in water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 25-30 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Combine milk, 2 tablespoons of rich butter, and sugar with the turnip and potatoes. Season generously with salt and pepper, then mash until it reaches a delightful slightly lumpy texture.
  • Pour the turnip mixture into a small baking dish and dot with the remaining butter. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes, then remove the cover and bake for an additional 8 minutes until lightly browned.
