Elevate your wok skills with this simple yet delicious nasi goreng paired with crunchy prawn crackers.
Ingredients:
  • Vegetable oil, for cooking
  • 200g prawn crackers
  • 500g lean beef stir-fry strips
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped
  • 800.00 gm white long-grain rice, cooked, cooled
  • 20.00 ml kecap manis
  • 24.40 gm fish sauce
  • 4 eggs, at room temperature
Instructions:
  • Fill the wok halfway with oil and heat over medium heat until hot. Fry prawn crackers in batches of 3 to 5 for 30 to 40 seconds until they puff up. Remove using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Let the oil cool down before discarding.
  • Preheat a sizzling hot wok. Add 3 teaspoons of oil and one-third of the beef. Stir-fry vigorously for 3 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a plate. Repeat twice with oil and the rest of the beef.
  • Sauté onions and chili in a wok until just tender. Mix in rice, kecap manis, fish sauce, and beef. Stir-fry until heated through. Cover to keep warm.
  • In a frying pan over medium heat, warm 1 tablespoon of oil. Crack 2 eggs into the pan. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the whites are set and the yolks are runny. Repeat with the rest of the eggs. Serve over bowls of rice and accompany with prawn crackers for a delightful meal.
