1poundground beef
0.5 cupdicedshiitake mushroom caps

1teaspoonsoy sauce
1teaspoonoyster sauce
1teaspoonsesame oil
0.125 teaspoonChinese five-spice powder
1pinchgroundblack pepper
Instructions:
Combine milk and sugar in a bowl. In a separate bowl, gradually mix the bun flour with the milk mixture, stirring with a spatula.
Shape the dough into a smooth ball and knead by hand for 20 minutes. Then incorporate olive oil and continue kneading for an additional 10 minutes.
Place the dough in a dry bowl, cover it with a towel, and allow it to rest for 30 minutes.
Mix beef, mushrooms, green onions, cornstarch, sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, five-spice powder, and pepper in a bowl until evenly combined. Shape into 12 meatballs of the same size.
Flatten dough into 12 equal pieces on a lightly floured surface. Roll each piece into a 5-inch circle using a rolling pin.
Encase each meatball with a dough circle, sealing the edges shut with a pinch.
Set up a steamer in a saucepan with water just below the steamer. Once the water is boiling, steam the beef buns in batches, covered, for about 45 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.
