Oolong, Orange, and Whiskey Punch

Whiskey punch with a hint of orange and spice, perfectly balanced and flavorful.
Ingredients:
3cups water
3tablespoons sugar
1 (2 inch) cinnamon stick
2whole star anise
6oolong tea bags
2.66 cups fresh orange juice
1.5 cups whiskey
3tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
largeice cubes
tangerine, sectioned and seeded
Instructions:
Bring water in a saucepan to a boil. Stir in sugar, cinnamon stick, and star anise. Take off the heat, add tea bags, and let steep for 3 minutes (or as long as directed for strong tea). Remove the tea bags and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, approximately 1 hour. Discard the cinnamon stick and star anise.
Combine the tea mixture, orange juice, whiskey, and lemon juice in a punch bowl or pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled, for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Decorate with vibrant tangerine slices and extra fragrant star anise. Pour into glasses filled with ice. Finish by adding a tangerine slice on top of each glass.
