Whiskey punch with a hint of orange and spice, perfectly balanced and flavorful.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 (2 inch) cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 6 oolong tea bags
  • 2.66 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1.5 cups whiskey
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
  • large ice cubes
  • tangerine, sectioned and seeded
Instructions:
  • Bring water in a saucepan to a boil. Stir in sugar, cinnamon stick, and star anise. Take off the heat, add tea bags, and let steep for 3 minutes (or as long as directed for strong tea). Remove the tea bags and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, approximately 1 hour. Discard the cinnamon stick and star anise.
  • Combine the tea mixture, orange juice, whiskey, and lemon juice in a punch bowl or pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled, for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Decorate with vibrant tangerine slices and extra fragrant star anise. Pour into glasses filled with ice. Finish by adding a tangerine slice on top of each glass.
