Caramelized brown sugar, tangy vinegar, savory garlic, rich ketchup, and aromatic onion blend into a thick, flavorful sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 0.75 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 10 chicken legs
Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in heated oil for 5 to 10 minutes until onion is tender. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and water. Season with salt and pepper, then cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat, cover, and allow to cool.
  • Place the chicken in a shallow dish and generously coat it with the flavorful sauce, setting aside some for basting later. Cover the dish and let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least an hour, or preferably overnight. Don't forget to store any extra sauce in a separate container in the refrigerator.
  • Heat your grill outdoors until it reaches medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Grill chicken over medium-high heat, basting with sauce if available, for 8 to 12 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 180°F (80°C).
