Spiced chickpeas cooked with tomatoes, onions, and lemon juice, flavored with cumin, chili powder, and lemon pepper. Perfect as a fragrant appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans, drained
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 onion, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over low heat, gently warm the oil with the cumin until the cumin deepens in color.
  • Season with salt, chili powder, and lemon and pepper seasoning, then mix thoroughly. Stir in tomatoes and cook until the juices start to thicken. Add chickpeas and mix until combined. Enjoy!
  • Combine the zesty lemon juice and mix thoroughly, then incorporate the onions and stir until tender.
  • Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and enjoy right away.
