Delicious Pakistani beef marinated in flavorful spices and yogurt for exceptional flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 pounds round steak, cut into pieces
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1.5 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • 4 fresh green chilies, for garnish
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, mix together yogurt, salt, red pepper flakes, ginger garlic paste, cumin, cloves, and turmeric. Add beef and coat evenly. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  • In a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat, cook onions in oil until golden brown. Set aside 1 tablespoon of the onions for garnish. Reduce heat to low, add meat to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 25 minutes until tender, checking every 10 minutes and adding water if needed.
  • Add the lemon juice and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Top with fresh cilantro, green chiles, and the crispy reserved fried onion.
