Elevate French toast with canned peaches and creamy cream cheese on thick bread slices.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 12 thick slices French bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 (15 ounce) can sliced peaches in syrup, drained and syrup reserved
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 pinch brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Generously slather cream cheese onto one side of each slice of bread. Arrange the bread slices in two neat rows at the bottom of a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, peach syrup, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture over the bread. Top with sliced peaches and drizzle melted butter on top. Cover the baking dish and refrigerate for up to 8 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for optimal baking conditions.
  • Before baking, generously scatter pecans over the bread mixture, then top it off with a layer of rich brown sugar.
  • Bake until edges are golden in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes.
