Indulge in a decadent pecan tart with a hint of rich milk chocolate.
Ingredients:
  • 45g unsalted butter, softened
  • 125g light brown sugar
  • 150ml golden syrup
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 100g milk chocolate, melted
  • 200g pecan nuts, chopped
  • Icing sugar, to dust
  • 250g plain flour
  • 110g icing sugar, sifted
  • 110g unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 egg
Instructions:
  • Begin by combining the flour and icing sugar in a food processor, pulsing briefly. Add the butter and process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Follow by adding the egg and processing until a ball forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • After chilling, roll out the pastry on a floured work surface and fit it into a 23cm fluted tart pan. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 180C. Line the pan with baking paper, fill it with rice, and blind-bake for 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and golden syrup until smooth. Mix in egg, vanilla, chocolate, and nuts. Pour the mixture into the pastry case and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let it cool, dust with icing sugar, and serve at room temperature with ice cream or cream. For extra flair, garnish with additional nuts.
