Authentic Italian piadina: 4-ingredient flatbread, stuffed with cured meat and soft cheese from Emilia-Romagna.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 7 tablespoons lard
Instructions:
  • Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl. Gradually add water while mixing, then incorporate the lard until a cohesive dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead it until smooth and elastic for about 10 minutes. Then, divide the dough into 6 pieces and roll out each piece to a thickness of 1/16 inch.
  • Preheat a heavy skillet or flat griddle over medium-high heat. Cook each piece until perfectly golden brown, taking about 2 minutes on each side.
