Effortlessly whip up a vibrant pineapple upside-down cake adorned with maraschino cherries using a convenient box mix for a stress-free and delightful dessert that will impress your guests.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 1 (20 ounce) can DOLE® Pineapple Slices
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 8 maraschino cherries
  • 1 (9 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 0.5 cup cold water
  • 1 large egg
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease an 8-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • Set aside drained pineapple slices.
  • Combine brown sugar and melted margarine in the pan and spread evenly. Arrange pineapple slices in the sugar mixture and top each slice and the center with a cherry.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the cake mix, cold water, and egg on low speed for 30 seconds, then switch to medium speed and beat for 3 to 4 minutes. Evenly pour the batter over the pineapple and cherries in the pan.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 to 30 minutes. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then loosen edges and transfer to a serving platter.
