Elevate your chicken dish with sauteed chicken legs and onions simmered in a flavorful blend of pomegranate juice, toasted walnuts, and cardamom.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds chicken legs, cut up
  • 1 white onion, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 pound walnuts, toasted and finely ground in a food processor
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups pomegranate juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon cardamom
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add chicken and onions, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in pureed walnuts, salt, pomegranate juice, and cardamom. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. If the sauce thickens too much, add 1/4 cup warm water. Add sugar, adjust seasoning, and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
