Effortlessly create a crispy beer batter for camping with beer, fresh fish, oil, and buttermilk pancake mix. Simple, affordable, and no mess. Perfect for outdoor cooking!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup beer, or as needed
  • 1 (7 ounce) container shake and pour buttermilk pancake mix
  • 2 pounds trout fillets
  • 0.5 cup oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Warm up the oil in a generous skillet over medium heat.
  • Replace water in the pancake mix container with beer for added flavor. Adjust batter consistency to your liking. Seal the container, shake well, and voilà, your batter is ready.
  • Coat fish in batter using tongs or simply place fish pieces in a container with batter, close the lid, shake gently, and remove the coated pieces.
  • Carefully lift the fish out of the batter with tongs and gently transfer it into the sizzling hot oil. Allow the fish to fry until it turns a beautiful golden brown color on each side, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
