Elegant puff pastry bites with figs, goat cheese, and caramelized onions - perfect for entertaining or special occasions.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 (17.5 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 14 ounces creamy goat cheese
  • 1 orange, zested
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 7 fresh figs, thinly sliced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves removed
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter and cook onions until beautifully caramelized, about 25 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar, mix thoroughly, and cook for an extra 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), then line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry dough and lay it on the baking sheet.
  • Combine creamy goat cheese and fragrant orange zest in a bowl until velvety. Add a pinch of salt, then spread the mixture over flaky puff pastry. Arrange sweet figs and caramelized onions on top. Finish off with a sprinkle of aromatic thyme leaves.
  • Bake in the oven until the pastry is beautifully puffed up and golden brown, for around 20 minutes.
