Mezcal and tequila with lime, pomegranate syrup, and a salty rim, a perfect toast to Dia de los Muertos.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon coarse smoked salt
  • 1 tablespoon coarse white decorator sugar
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • ice
  • 1 fluid ounce tequila
  • 0.75 fluid ounce lime juice
  • 0.5 fluid ounce mezcal
  • 2 fluid ounces club soda
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate simple syrup
Instructions:
  • Combine smoked salt and white decorating sugar on a small plate. Rim a Collins glass with a lime wedge, then dip into the salt mixture. Fill glass with ice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker generously with ice. Combine tequila, lime juice, and mezcal in the shaker. Shake vigorously until well-chilled. Strain into a glass and top with club soda. Slowly pour in the pomegranate simple syrup for a mesmerizing color effect.
