Savor a flavorful meatless dahl for dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 250.00 ml dried red split lentils, washed, drained
  • 1000.00 gm water
  • 3 thin slices fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 57.50 gm canola oil
  • 2.50 gm ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  • Combine lentils and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and skim any residue from the surface with a spoon.
  • Reduce the heat to low and introduce the vibrant flavors of ginger and turmeric. Allow the ingredients to gently simmer with a partially covered lid for 1 hour. Then, continue cooking and stirring for an additional 30 minutes until the lentils reach desired tenderness.
  • In a small frying pan, heat oil over high heat. Add cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper, and cook for 30 seconds. Stir the mixture into the lentils, season with salt, and serve. Enjoy!
