Indulgent red velvet trifle with cake mixes, pie filling - perfect for festive holidays like Christmas or Valentine's Day!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package red velvet cake mix
  • 1.25 cups water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant cheesecake-flavored pudding mix
  • 1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (7 ounce) can whipped cream, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper and give it a light spray of cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, blend cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Use an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then switch to medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and ensure it's evenly spread.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely for 30 minutes.
  • Once the cake has nearly cooled, vigorously whisk together milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Allow it to rest until it thickens, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Cut the chilled cake into 1-inch cubes.
  • Start by arranging half of the cake cubes at the base of an 8-inch trifle bowl. Top with half of the pudding and half of the cherry pie filling. Repeat the layers one more time. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 to 8 hours before enjoying.
  • Top with a dollop of fluffy whipped cream.
