Transform chocolate cake mix into cute Robin's egg dessert pops with blue frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Milk Chocolate Frosting
  • 1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 cups light blue candy melts or coating wafers (24 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 40 paper lollipop sticks
  • Block of plastic foam
Instructions:
  • Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions for a 13x9-inch pan using water, oil, and eggs. Allow the cake to cool completely. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Crumble the cake into a large bowl and mix in the frosting until well combined. Shape the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them on the cookie sheet. Mold each ball into an egg shape. Freeze until firm, then store in the refrigerator.
  • Place chocolate chips in a food processor and pulse until finely ground. Set aside.
  • Place candy melts and shortening in a large microwavable bowl and microwave uncovered on Medium (50%) for 1 minute, then in 15-second intervals until melted. Stir until smooth. Dip 1 lollipop stick 1/2 inch into melted candy and insert into 1 cake ball halfway. Repeat with remaining cake balls. Chill cake pops for 5 minutes, then dip each into melted candy, tapping off excess. Place in foam block and sprinkle with ground chocolate chips. Allow to set before serving.
