Indulgent pecan pie with rich, buttery pecans and a touch of cocoa for a decadent twist.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Combine melted margarine, corn syrup, sugar, and cocoa in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Mix in vanilla, salt, and eggs until well combined. Add half of the pecans and mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into pastry shell and sprinkle remaining pecans on top.
  • Place in the preheated oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius) for 55 minutes. Allow to cool before enjoying.
