Enhance chicken with soy sauce brine for juicy, flavorful results. Perfect for baking, grilling, or frying.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (5 pound) whole chicken
  • 1 gallon cold water
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried celery seed
  • 0.5 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 0.75 cup kosher salt
  • 0.75 cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
Instructions:
  • Start by delicately extracting the giblets from the chicken cavity, then thoroughly rinse the chicken both inside and out.
  • Combine water, sage, celery seed, thyme, salt, sugar, and soy sauce in a large pot. Stir until sugar and salt dissolve. Add chicken, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Remove the chicken from the brine, rinse thoroughly inside and out, and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of seasoned salt. Bake at 400 degrees F for 45 minutes.
