Succulent lamb with creamy tahini, great for entertaining.
Ingredients:
  • 600g lamb leg steaks, thinly sliced
  • 1 small brown onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2.50 gm ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 36.40 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 large pieces Lebanese bread, torn into triangles
  • Fresh mint sprigs, to serve
  • Sweet paprika, to serve
  • Lemon wedges, to serve
  • 130g (1/2 cup) Greek yoghurt
  • 95g (1/3 cup) tahini
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely grated
  • 42.00 gm lemon juice
  • 20.00 gm warm water
Instructions:
  • Prepare the tahini sauce by mixing together yogurt, tahini, garlic, and lemon juice in a bowl. Slowly incorporate water to achieve desired consistency. Season to taste, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • In a bowl, mix together the flavorful lamb, fragrant onion, pungent garlic, warm cinnamon, and aromatic allspice. Don't forget to season with your favorite spices.
  • In a large frying pan, heat oil over high heat. Fry bread in 2 batches, turning, for 1-2 minutes until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate using tongs.
  • - Reheat the oil in the pan until sizzling. - Cook the lamb mixture in 2 batches for 3 minutes until golden. - Assemble the plate with bread, lamb, tahini sauce, and mint sprigs. - Sprinkle with paprika. - Serve with lemon wedges.
