Classic shepherd's pie with savory beef, creamy mushroom soup, gooey American cheese, and fluffy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
  • 3 teaspoons butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a large saucepan, cover the potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and mash the potatoes.
  • As the potatoes simmer, sauté beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until perfectly browned. Drain excess grease, then blend in condensed soup until fully incorporated.
  • Place the beef mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish, top it with cheese, spread mashed potatoes evenly over it, and dot with butter.
  • Bake until the top turns a beautiful golden brown, about 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven.
