Elevate the classic Sloppy Joe with a twist--a spicy chicken and chorizo filling on a crispy pretzel bun.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 (9 ounce) package ground chorizo sausage
  • 0.5 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.75 cup beef broth
  • 1.5 teaspoons chipotle chile powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon beef broth, or more as needed
  • 6 pretzel rolls, split and toasted
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Brown ground chicken and chorizo sausage until crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Discard grease, then add onion and butter. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Combine ketchup, broth, brown sugar, chile powder, mustard powder, hot sauce, salt, and pepper in the skillet, stirring until blended. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15 to 20 minutes. Add more broth as needed. Serve on toasted pretzel rolls.
