Overnight slow cooker oatmeal with warm spices, golden raisins, and nutty steel-cut oats elevates breakfast with minimal effort.

  • 3 1/2 cups whole milk, or milk alternative
  • 1 1/2 cups steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (optional)
  • To serve:
  • Honey or brown sugar to taste
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker: Combine water, milk, oats, raisins, cinnamon, allspice, cardamom, and salt in the slow cooker. Stir well and cook on low for 7 hours.
  • Mix well: When ready to serve, stir the oatmeal thoroughly to ensure everything is fully combined and smooth. If it appears dry or clumpy, add a splash of extra water or milk.
  • Serve your oatmeal by sprinkling on your favorite toppings such as fresh fruit and nuts. You can mix them in or let guests customize their own bowls. Enjoy the oatmeal hot. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for 3 months.
