Deluxe apple cobbler with snickerdoodle cookie crust - a perfect autumn treat for 12. Chewy top, fluffy center, and caramelized bottom, combining spiced apples with cookie goodness. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a decadent finish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 5 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 10 cups sliced peeled apples (10 medium)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine cookie mix, softened butter, and egg in a large bowl until a soft dough forms. In a separate small bowl, blend 5 teaspoons sugar with 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
  • In a separate large bowl, toss Filling ingredients until evenly coated. Spread mixture evenly in baking dish. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough evenly over the filling, allowing some apple slices to peek through. Sprinkle sugar-cinnamon mixture over the top.
  • Bake for 30-34 minutes until cookies are golden brown and bubbles form on the edges of the fruit filling. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving with a side of ice cream or sweetened whipped cream.
