Delicious butter tart squares with a classic raisin and nut filling on a simple pressed crust.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup cold butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfectly baked dish.
  • Combine 1 cup of flour and white sugar in a bowl, then use a pastry blender to cut 1/2 cup of cold butter into the mixture until crumbly. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch square cake pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then set aside to cool slightly while keeping the oven on.
  • Combine whisked eggs and luscious melted butter in a bowl, add brown sugar, flour, baking powder, and aromatic vanilla extract. Gently mix in raisins and crunchy pecans, then pour over the base.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until the top springs back when touched. Allow it to cool completely before cutting into squares.
