Spaghetti amatriciana: a spicy, irresistible dish topped with parmesan and served with crispy bread. Perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm Brand pure olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 175g Brand short cut bacon, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 long red chillies, finely chopped
  • 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
  • 125.00 ml pitted kalamata olives
  • 400g spaghetti
  • 187.50 ml grated parmesan, to serve
  • Crusty bread, to serve
Instructions:
  • 1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 5 minutes. Add bacon and cook until browned, 3-4 minutes. Stir in garlic and chili until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add tomatoes and 1/2 cup water. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 15 minutes. Gently fold in olives. Season to taste.
  • Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water following the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and combine it with the tomato sauce by tossing it together.
  • Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and serve alongside crunchy crusty bread.
