Spaghetti amatriciana

Spicy and irresistible spaghetti amatriciana topped with parmesan and served with crusty bread - a family favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm Brand pure olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 175g Brand short cut bacon, chopped
  • 3 long red chillies, finely chopped
  • 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
  • 125.00 ml pitted kalamata olives
  • 400g spaghetti
  • 187.50 ml grated parmesan, to serve
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion until soft, about 5 minutes. Add bacon and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in garlic and chili and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add tomatoes and 1/2 cup water, then simmer until slightly thickened, about 15 minutes. Finish by stirring in olives and season to taste.
  • Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to the package instructions. Drain the spaghetti and mix it into the tomato sauce, combining thoroughly.
  • Garnish with Parmesan cheese and serve alongside crusty bread.
