Ingredients:
18.20 gm olive oil
20g butter
2brown onions, halved, finely chopped
2garliccloves, crushed
500g beef mince
145g (1/2 cup) tomato paste
250ml (1 cup) dry red wine
2 x 400g cansdiced tomatoes
20.00 ml oregano leaves
3dried bay leaves
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
82.50 ml fresh continental parsley, loosely packed, coarsely chopped
375g dried Italian Spaghetti
80g parmesan, to serve
Instructions:
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, heat oil and butter until sizzling. Sauté onion and garlic for 3 minutes until onion softens. Add mince and stir with a wooden spoon for 5 minutes until browned.
Combine tomato paste, wine, tomatoes, oregano, and bay leaves in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 1 hour until sauce thickens, and stir occasionally. Season with salt and pepper, then add parsley before serving.
Cook the spaghetti in a large saucepan of salted boiling water according to package directions until it's firm to the bite (al dente). Drain the spaghetti.
Portion the spaghetti into individual serving bowls, generously ladle the rich bolognaise sauce on top, sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan, and enjoy promptly.
