Spicy garbanzo beans ready in just 20 minutes with 2 simple steps for a quick and delicious dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 cans (15 to 16 ounces each) garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, sauté mustard seed and onion in hot oil until onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring now and then, until the beans are heated through. Garnish with parsley before serving.
