Make easy slow cooker creme brulee with only 5 ingredients for a decadent dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1.6666667461395 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 teaspoons white sugar
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks, 1/4 cup sugar, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Slowly whisk in 1 cup of cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Strain the custard mixture into a liquid measuring cup.
  • Place a folded kitchen towel at the bottom of a 6-quart oval slow cooker to keep the ramekins stable. Arrange four 4-ounce ramekins on the towel. Fill the slow cooker with water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  • Evenly distribute the custard into the ramekins. Place paper towels over the slow cooker liner to absorb any condensation while baking, then cover with the lid to secure.
  • Slow cook until the custard is just set with a slight jiggle, approximately 2 hours.
  • Cool the ramekins on a rack for 45 minutes until completely cooled. Refrigerate the custards uncovered for at least 3 hours until cold.
  • Sprinkle 1 teaspoon sugar over each ramekin and gently shake to distribute evenly. Use a culinary torch to melt and brown the sugar for about 1 minute.
