Make Swedish butter cookies using a cookie press for a tender texture. Add potato flour for extra softness and tint the dough red or green for a festive touch.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons vanilla sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup potato flour
  • 1 drop red food coloring, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Use an electric mixer to whip butter and confectioners' sugar in a bowl until smooth and creamy; then mix in the vanilla sugar.
  • Whisk together the flour and potato flour in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the butter mixture, adding about 1/4 cup at a time, until fully combined.
  • Incorporate the food coloring until the dough is uniformly colored.
  • Load the dough into a cookie press with a fancy tip.
  • Scoop 1 1/2-inch cookie dough onto a baking sheet without greasing it.
  • Bake cookies in the preheated oven until lightly browned underneath, approximately 10 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to finish cooling.
