Juicy short ribs broiled, baked, and simmered for a saucy treat. A hit with the hubby, perfect for cozy nights. Add extra liquid for more sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pounds boneless beef short ribs, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat the broiler in your oven.
  • Arrange the ribs on a broiler pan and cook on the top oven rack until nicely browned, about 15 minutes. Then, transfer the ribs to a baking dish and lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Combine tomato sauce, tomato juice, onion, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Season with cinnamon, cloves, and pepper, then simmer until it boils. Pour this flavorful mixture over the ribs in the baking dish.
  • Roast ribs in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 45 minutes, or until the meat is tender and reaches 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) internally.
