Easy stovetop Sloppy Joe recipe, can also be made in a slow cooker for extra flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped celery
  • 7 ounces ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 8 white or wheat hamburger buns
Instructions:
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Crumble ground beef into the skillet, then add onion and celery. Cook and stir the mixture until the beef is fully browned, about 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, mustard, and lemon juice into the beef mixture. Simmer on medium-low heat until hot and the sauce thickens, about 20 minutes.
